Privacy Policy — BibleSprint
Last updated: 23 April 2026
Who we are
BibleSprint™ is operated by TLC Consortium Limited, a company registered in the United Kingdom. BibleSprint is a trademark of TLC Consortium Limited. The service is founded by Timi Hyacinth. You can reach us at info@tlcblend.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the app at www.biblesprint.com, why, and what rights you have.
For the purposes of UK/EU data protection law, TLC Consortium Limited is the data controller of the information you provide.
What we collect
When you create an account:
- Your name (or nickname — your choice)
- Your email address
- A password (stored only as a cryptographic hash by Firebase Authentication; we never see it in plain text)
- Account metadata (sign-up date, last sign-in time)
As you use the app:
- Your chosen reading pace (1, 2, 3 or 4 sprints per day)
- Your plan start date
- Which sprints you’ve ticked off
- Your journal entries (key verse, observations, application, prayer) for each day
- A counter of how many whole-Bible reads you’ve completed
- Optionally: a daily reminder time you set
Technical data:
- Standard web-server logs held by our hosting provider, Hostinger (IP address, timestamp, browser type, requested file) — used to keep the site running and detect abuse.
- Firebase may log similar diagnostics for authentication requests (see “Who we share with” below).
We do not use analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party cookies.
Why we collect it (lawful bases)
- To give you the service you asked for (performance of a contract, UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)): to provide your account, sync your progress across your devices, send password-reset and verification emails.
- Our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): to keep the app secure, prevent abuse, and improve it. These interests are weighed against your rights and do not override them.
- Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): if we ever send you non-essential communications (e.g. a newsletter), only if you explicitly opt in.
Who we share it with
We use Google Firebase (operated by Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited) as our backend provider:
- Firebase Authentication stores your email, password hash, and account metadata.
- Firebase Firestore stores your reading progress and journal entries.
- Firebase hosts this data on servers in the EU (europe-west region).
Google processes this data as our data processor under a Data Processing Addendum. You can review Google’s commitments at cloud.google.com/terms/data-processing-terms.
We do not sell or share your personal data with any other third party. We do not share your journal entries with anyone other than you (only you and the app owner, acting on limited administrative duties, can see them — and then only when necessary).
How long we keep it
- Active accounts: as long as you keep the account open.
- After account deletion: we delete your account and associated journal entries from Firestore within 30 days of your request.
- Server logs: typically kept for no more than 90 days by our hosting provider.
Your rights
Under UK/EU GDPR you have the right to:
- Access a copy of your personal data (the app’s Settings → Export my data button does this; it downloads a file with everything we hold about you)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (you can edit your name in Settings; for email, contact us)
- Erasure (the Settings → Delete my account button removes all your data; or contact us and we’ll do it)
- Restriction and objection regarding certain processing
- Data portability (the export is a standard text format you can take elsewhere)
- Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it
- Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you think we’ve mishandled your data
To exercise any of these, email info@tlcblend.com.
Children
BibleSprint is intended for users aged 13 and over. If you’re a parent or guardian and believe a child under this age has created an account, please contact us and we’ll delete it promptly.
International transfers
Firebase may transfer data internationally as part of its global service. Google maintains compliance with the UK-EU-US Data Privacy Framework and uses Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be flagged in the app. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
